The third and final phase of the Anglo-French Hundred Years_ War of the medieval times was the Lancastrian War. It started when Henry V of England invaded Normandy in 1415 and lasted until 1453 by the resurgent French army under the leadership of Joan of Arc. It was preceded by a long period of peace in the medieval period immediately following the Caroline War. The phase was named after the House of Lancaster, the ruling house of the Kingdom of England, to which Henry V belonged to. With the victory in the Battle of Azincourt, Henry V brought the English to the height of their power in France.
